Autumn

Standard

Every year the leaves turn
From green to red and brown
Every year the leaves turn,
And on the winds blow down.

Autumn is the ending time,
As the days grow cold.
Autumn is the ending time,
As the year grows old.

It rains, the skies grow dark
Puddles of mud on the ground.
The skies grow dark, the wind howls,
Wailing a mournful sound.

The days grow short, the sun dims,
The darkness grows apace
The sun grows dim, the light fades
The world’s a quiet place.

People gather in their houses,
Making shelters of light.
People meet for food and laughter,
Feasting as winter comes alight.
